5th graders put their creativity to the test with an engineering activity! Mr. Bohlander tasked all 5th grade science classes to create a rubber band car with a partner. The pairs constructed their cars using popsicle sticks, cardboard, straws, and any other materials they could get their hands on. The goal was for each car to go at least 4 feet. On Thursday, initial trials were completed in each individual class with the top performs moving on to the final run. The first place rubber band car, made by Jacob M. and Caleb W., impressively traveled over 35 feet for the win! Second place with 32 feet was Josiah O. and Kaidyn K., and 3rd place went to Halle H. and Blake A., with their car traveling 25 feet!
