3rd graders attended annual field trip to Torrington Livestock Sale Barn and University of Wyoming Sustainable Agriculture Research Extension Center (SAREC).  This experience provided a great learning experience for the students. They learned how producers in Wyoming work to sustain profitable agricultural production.  They learned that the Torrington Livestock Sale Barn provides an avenue for producers to sell their livestock in order to maintain a profitable margin. The UW SAREC facility conducts research experiments with crops and livestock so they can maintain a profitable production margin.  Activities included a mock sale at the livestock barn where students bid on livestock and viewed a presentation on potato production and picked potatoes at SAREC. The students had a great time!
